He was predeceased by: his mother Ruby Mitchell (Paxton); his daughter Ann Mitchell; his grandsons, Lil Bit and Billy Lester; his parent J. W. Mitchell; and his son-in-law Ricky Cockrell.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Mitchell of Ellisville; his daughters, Teresa Cockrell of Indianola, MS, Dwanda Normand of Laurel, MS, Pam Jordan of Ellisville, MS and DeeDee Davis (Harold) of Ellisville, MS; and his brother Bobby Mitchell of Jackson, MS. He is also survived by 13 grandkids.
