It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elton J. Slayton (Ellisville, Mississippi), who passed away on February 26, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Gertie L. Slayton; his parents, James Daulton and Ethel Slayton; his siblings, Jimmy Slayton and Marguerite Nelson; and his son-in-law Bayless Landrum.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Slayton (Gloria), Ronny Slayton (Deborah), Cindy Welch (David) and Pati Knight (Mackie); and his grandchildren, Julie Kooistra, Christy Guerra, Sabrina Peel (Jamey), Matthew Welch, Ashley Welch, Lindsay Welch, Amanda McCallum (Chad) and Mary Kathryn Carney (Benji). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, and host of nieces and nephews.
Abiding by Elton's' wishes the family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made directly to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
