He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Smith and Dovie Smith; his brother Carroll Smith; his son Kent Smith; and his great grandchildren, Ava Harris and Brooklyn Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Harrison Smith of Ellisville; his brothers, Tommy Smith (Linda) of Ellisville and James DeBoxtel (Elizabeth) of Colorado; his children, David Smith (Martha), Zumwalt (Ronnie) of Ellisville and Deena Mixon (Ion) of Petal; his grandchildren, Allison Holloway, Aaron Zumwalt (Lindsey), Brittani Wemple (Bryan), Paige Alyahyawi (Youssef), Jill Simmons (Matt), Jarrod Smith (Katy), Micah Mixon, Morgan Mixon, Miriam Mixon, Jaclyn Baylis (Chuck) and Sarah McInnis; and also Julie Smith of Ellisville. He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
