He was predeceased by: his wife Annie Lois "Sue" Baker; his son Larry Sexton Baker; his granddaughter Carla Michele Vaughn; his parents, Ina Windham Baker and Claude Devall Baker; his siblings, Louis Baker, Archie Baker, Beatrice Nix (O. L.), Louise Aultman (James), Doris Cooper, Lois Gaskin (J. R.), Claudine Tanner (Jim), Barbara Gaskin (Lavon) and Carolyn Rogers (Scott); and his son-in-law Donald Murphy.

He is survived by: his caregiver Angela Marie Vaughn Knight (Chris Knight); his children, Krisha, Carla Baker Cotton (Danny) and Mary Ann Baker Murphy; his grandchildren, Angela Marie Vaughn Knight (Chris), Sean Thomas Cotton, Bryan Murphy (Jessica) and Michelle Murphy; his great grandchild Molly Knight Lacey (Shawn); his great great grandchildren, Everly Lacey, Tripp Lacey, Giuliana Lacey, Amelia Murphy, Dawson Murphy and Weston Murphy; his brother Sherrill Baker (Charlotte); and his sister-in-law Gail Baker. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Charles had a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
