He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Minter and Barbara Minter; and his uncle Eugene Young. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Minter; his children, Daniel Minter (Jeanie), Michael Minter (Samantha), Charles Minter Jr. (Desire), Lisa McNeill (Billy Ray), Michelle Brownlee (Frank), Linda Robertson (Chad) and Doris Minter; and his brother Johnny Minter (Glenda). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, a host great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
