He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Smith and Flossie Hill Smith; his wife Louise Smith; and his sister Joan Uhiren. He is survived by: his children, Nita Hood (Richard) of Duck Hill, Gale McKissack (John) of Starkville and Mike Smith of Pontotoc; his grandchildren, Alan Hood (Stephanie) of Talladega, Ala, Kyle Hood of Duck Hill, Zac McKissack of Starkville and Candace Buckley (Chris) of Starkville; his great grandchildren, Asher Hood, Hunter McKissack, Presley Buckley, Tyler Ann Buckley, Austyn Claire Buckley and Edie Gale Buckley; his siblings, Peggy Holmes (Glynn) of Hazen and Ray Smith (Brenda) of Carlisle; and his brother-in-law Paul Uhiren.
