He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Thomas "Tom" and Jessie Mae Gillon Holmes; his son Charles Thomas "Trey" Holmes, III; and his siblings, Nona Wood, Marie Rodgers, James Holmes, Jack Holmes and Gillon Holmes.
He is survived by: his nephews, Gary Kirk, Jr., Tim Holmes, Tommy Rodgers, Randy Richardson, David Eley, Charles Henry, Jr., Honorary, Dynamite Kirk and Ricky; his daughter Christy Holmes Owens (Tim) of Duck Hill; his sister Nancy Kirk (Gary) of Duck Hill; and his grandchildren, Kevin Trey Owens of Holcomb and Kelsie Lynn Owens of Duck Hill.
