He is survived by: his wife Judy Loper Simmons; his children, James Preston Simmons, Jr. of California, Jiva Marie Pate (Bill) of Bandera and Stephanie Nicole Burney of Cleveland, MS.; and his siblings, Gwen Allen of Hazlehurst, MS., John Simmons of Houston and LeRoy Simmons of Fort. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren. and a host of nieces and nephews.
