He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Byrd Mitchell and Flora Lee Holmes Mitchell; and his brothers, Thomas Allen Mitchell, Robert Stanley Mitchell, James Mitchell and Linn Mitchell.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Earls Mitchell of Doddsville; his son Kevin Dale Mitchell of Madison; his brothers, Jerry Mitchell (Carylon) of Indianola and Julian "Shine" Mitchell (Mary Ann) of Gulfport; and his grandchildren, MaryDale Mitchell and Cooper Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
