He was predeceased by: his father William Matthews, Sr.; and his siblings, Gregory Matthews and Veronica Daw Johnson. He is survived by: his mother Peggy Matthews of Pass Christian; his former wife Cynthia Matthews of Diamondhead; his children, Joshua Matthews of Kiln, Bronson Peterson of Lizana, Todd Matthews of Diamondhead, Cody Fisher of Diamondhead, Peggy Richards (PJ) of Roanoke Rapids and Heather Gambill of Kiln; and his brothers, William Matthews of Long Beach and Christopher Matthews of Pass Christian. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
