He is survived by: his brothers, George C. Hankins and Daniel B. "Pete" Hankins, Jr. (Ella); and his children, James Steven Hankins, David Mitchell Hankins (Celeste), Lisa Hankins Bridges (Charley) and Jeffrey Todd Hankins (Arlene). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
