He is survived by: his parents, Mike Gurney and Lyn Gurney; his spouse Justin; his siblings, Josh Gurney and Natalie Deason (Slade); his nieces and nephews, Blaine Roshto, Zane Deason, Steele Gurney, Aubree Ann Gurney and Willa Jane Deason; and his grandmothers, Willa Dean Gurney and Suzanne Sullivan. He is also survived by numerous other family members and many friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Home (152 S Broad St, Liberty, MS 39645). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
