He is survived by: his wife Shirley Martin Dempsey; his children, Martin Dempsey (Jerelyn) of Crystal Springs and Carol Garbo (Bill) of Ridgeland; his siblings, Boyd Dempsey of Nevada and Ester Clark of Nevada; and his grandchildren, Tracey Sistrunk (Jodie) and Jason Garbo (Tren).
