It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jeanell Hayes (Crystal Springs, Mississippi), born in Eudora, Arkansas, who passed away on January 7, 2022, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hebron Clarence and Violet Steward Runnels; and her brothers, Clyde Kenneth Runnels and Ronnie Dean Runnels. She is survived by: her sons, Jamie Hayes (Holly) of Azle, TX, Jeff Hayes of Olive Branch and Joseph Hayes (Amanda) of Picayune; and her brother Richard Runnels of Monroe, LA.

“Nellie Rikard, Olive Branch, MS : My Dear Friend, Jeanell Hayes gave me a most precious gift, one that grows sweeter day by day. She taught me to give and receive hugs. I grew up in an era where people were taught, NOT to hug, kiss, or compliment their Children so as adults, of course we continued this practice. How much we, and our Children missed out on. Not only me, but other members of the Fairhaven Congregation also became huggers. Now, it is SO much a part of who we are, we hardly remembe”
