He was predeceased by: his parents, George W. Thornton and Bammer Hall Thornton; and his wife Bonnie Edwards Thornton. He is survived by: his children, Richard Thornton of Rincon, GA and Debbie Turnage of Crystal Springs. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
