He was predeceased by: his wife Ophelia Jane Ashpole; his son Lonnie Darrell Ashpole; his parents, Harold Ashpole and Emily Ashpole; and his brother Paul Ashpole.
He is survived by: his children, Lucinda Ashpole Goldberg of Doddridge, AR, Merle Ashpole of Quitman, AR and Teresa Strong (Mark) of Utica, MS; his daughter-in-law Jackie Ashpole of Cordova, TN; his brothers, Bill Ashpole of Wahiawa, HI, Danny Ashpole (Marianne) of Pine Island, MN and Dale Ashpole (Shirley) of Mankato, MN; and his grandchildren, Melissa Ashpole, Joshua Ashpole, Lorrie Jenkins and Gary Strong.
