He is survived by: his wife Dianne Carson Slay; his daughters, Shelia Slay Hemphill (James) of Florence and Samantha Slay Britt (Loren) of Terry; his mother Ruth Barron Slay; his siblings, Pam Savell of Florence and Barry Slay of Hopewell; his grandchildren, Chandler Hemphill (Claudia), Ryland Hemphill, Greyson Britt and Charley Britt; and his great grandchildren, Gatlin Hemphill and Brees Hemphill.
