She was predeceased by: her parents, James Nelson Stepp and Mavis Johnson Stepp; her son Charles "Shelton" Burt, Jr. (late Charles Shelton Burt); her close friend James Massa; and her stepmother Jean Bennett Stepp.
She is survived by: her daughters, Pequita Burt Brown, Pam Burt Stokes (David) and Tammy Burt Wallace; her sister Shelia Henderson; and her daughters, Marie Massa Glass and Beverly Massa Lewis. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren.
