He was predeceased by: his father Virgil Chamness; his siblings, Wallace "Neal" Chamness, Kenneth "Nash" Chamness, Jewelene "Dobie" Gilly and Diana Lynn Roddy; and his grandparents, Lem Chamness, Mary Elizabeth Lawrence Chamness, Martha Luther Looney and Elizabeth Coon Looney.

He is survived by: his mother Minnie Looney Chamness; his wife Mary Ann Nettles Chamness; his daughters, Jessica Chamness and Destiny Chamness; his grandchildren, Kaylie Harris, Kayden Neal Harris, Jacob Buckhannon, Avalyn Grace Adams and Oliva Buckhannon; his brother Virgil Lee Chamness; and his sister-in-law Amanda Chamness. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
