Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Melissa leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.

She was predeceased by: her uncle Freddie "Boy-Boy" McTyre. She is survived by: her husband Shane Buteaux; her sons, Creed Joseph David of Zachary, LA and Easton "Bam" Buteaux of Crosby, MS; her parents, Henry David and Rita David of Woodville, MS; her sister Angel David Covey; her nephew Jamie Covey of Woodville, MS; her granddaughter Emery Collins David; and her pets, Chee and Kane Kane.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. (4230 High St, Zachary, LA 70791). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
