It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John William Allen of Courtland, Mississippi, born in Sardis, Mississippi, who passed away on September 11, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Purvis "Pat" and Effie Belle Taylor Allen. He is survived by: his children, Debra Allen Magee (Johnny) of Pope, MS and David Wayne Allen of Pope, MS; his siblings, Molly Lorene Knight of Oxford, MS, Betty Lou Conner of Oxford, MS and Bobby Lee Allen (Mary) of Jackson, MS; his sisters-in-law, Ruth Allen of Olive Branch, MS and Ruby Jean Oswalt of Pontotoc, MS; his grandchildren, Haley Beth Pegueros (Bert) and Tyler Buford Allen; and his friend Mary Sutton of Courtland, MS. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
