He is survived by: his wife Nylene Jackson Dowdy; his children, Angie Karstens (Brett) of Nashville and Steven Dowdy (Tina) of Middleton; and his grandchildren, Dalton Karstens, Grace Karstens, Noah Watson, Ty Dowdy, Dustin Hodum, Dwight Smith, Gary Swain and Perry McFarling.
