He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Smith; his daughters, Stacy Brooks (Keith), Shauna Davis and Kirby Carruth (Andrew); his mother Emma Lee Smith Newcomb; his siblings, William Robert Smith and Patti Potts; his grandchildren, Aubrey Davis, Madeline Brooks, Marleigh Brooks, Ford Carruth and Miles Carruth; his mother-in-law Olivia Sanders; his brother-in-law Maury Sanders (Margaret); and also, Ricky Newcomb (Mary) and Becky Shanklin (Dave).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Scotty's memory may be made to St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
