She was predeceased by: her parents, John H. Bowers and Beatrice Dilworth Bowers; her sister Geraldine Wells; and her close friend James Ray Franks. She is survived by: her children, Jamie Leigh Vanderford and Dr. Robert Stanley Burcham (Rebecca); her granddaughter Presleigh Jade Spence; her sister Margaret Anne Orr (Jim); her nephews, Jimmy Orr and John David Orr; and her niece Laura Wells Perry.
