He was predeceased by: his wife Janis Hardwick; his parents, Milton Clyde and Helen Boyce Denley Hardwick; and his siblings, Jerry Wayne Hardwick, Ray Don Hardwick, Nancy Ragan, Myrtle Joyce Hardwick and Margaret Diane Hardwick.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Strickland (Robby) and Kelly Hardwick (Shannon); his siblings, Edna Murrah, Helen Elliott, Lola Crawford and Orlander Hardwick (Rotha); his grandchildren, John William Hardwick, Olivia Hardwick, Weston Henderson, Logan Strickland (Haylee), Kaylee Chism (Mike), Elizabeth Harris (Nick) and Neely Strickland; and his great grandchildren, Cade Strickland, Aniston Chism, Lincoln Chism, Gracelyn Harris, Mickey Chism and Blake Chism.
Memorials may be made in John's honor to Northside church of Christ in Corinth.
