He was predeceased by: his wife Vera Nelms Dixon; his son Mike Dixon; and his parents, Lloyd Dixon and Carrie Myrtle Dixon. He is survived by: his children, Tim Dixon and Diane Kimmons (Mike); his daughter-in-law Patsy Dixon; his grandchildren, Morgan Crum (Jacob), Madison Welzbacher, Reid Dixon and Rachel Conner (Ryan); and his siblings, Bill Dixon (Faye) and Carrie Sue Holder.
