He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ables and Jessie Mae Ables; his aunt Clara Jo Floyd; his sister-in-law Lea Ann Ables; and his son John "Buck" Ables.
He is survived by: his wife Dale Ables; his brother-in-law Tony Johnson (Marilyn); his son Jeff Ables (Teresa); his granddaughters, Maegan Ables Whitaker (Jared), Kate Ables and Abby Ables; his siblings, Arthur Owen Ables and Jo Ann Carson (W. C.); and his great grandchild John Michael Whitaker.
