She was predeceased by: her parents, Katherine North and Howard North; her son Len Spear; her brother Edward North; her sister-in-law Mary Elizabeth Barton; her great grandchild David Elfert; and her husband Harrison.

She is survived by: her daughters, Cindy Erickson (Jimmy), Vivian Farris (Hank) and Judy Kruger (Barry); her grandchildren, Kelly Elfert (Roger), Courtney Walker (Chris), Jamie Hargett (Matt), Katie Mault (Mason), Janis Kruger, Brett Farris (Laura) and Wesley Kruger (Elise); her great grandchildren, Katherine Elfert, Larkin Elfert, Harrison Elfert, James Walker, Margaret Walker, Ellen Walker, Eric Hargett, Daniel Hargett, Maggie Mault and Riley Farris; and her sister-in-law Mildred Norman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church (919 E Shiloh Rd, Corinth, MS 38834). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

“Having grown up next door to the Spear family until I left Corinth in 1973 (my mother still lives next door). I will always have love for this entire family.. I will remember Janis for her smile, friendliness and love for others. She always had a positive attitude and caring nature for others. She was a great example for all of us as to how to live a life.
