He was predeceased by: his father Leo. He is survived by: his mother Neoma Russell; his children, Diana Lynn Turner (Kevin), Sheila Ann Smith (Jerry), Jennifer Joy Jefcoat (Jake), Leah Stovall and William Russell Stovall; his grandchildren, Kyle Turner (Megan), Katie Tidwell (Kaleb), Rendan Russell, Rachel Smith, Mason Smith, Hanna Joy Jefcoat, Jude Jefcoat, Sean Bailey, Madeline Smith and William Russell Stovall, Jr.; his close friend Chuck Stratton (Lisa); and also Patricia Holmes-Russell. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has chosen memorials to be made to the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo (5159 West Main St., Tupelo, MS. 38801) in memory of George E. Russell.
