He was predeceased by: his parents, Garner Byars and Margaret Estes Byars; and his sister Margaret Anne Matthews. He is survived by: his daughter Beverly Byars Jones (Larry); his brothers, Robert Estes Byars (Judy) and Timothy Scott Byars (Cecilia); and his friend Patricia Trianum.
