He was predeceased by: his parents, Byron Adams and Julie Mary Thornton Adams; his daughters, Ruth White Adams and Terri Ann Williams; his grandson Joe Fehlaber; and his siblings, James Henry Adams, Jep Leon Adams and Flora Mae Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Adams; and his daughters, Amy Richardson (Barry), Barbara Brooks, Eva Borja (John), Betty Griffin (Gerald), Marie Burns, Meshelle Hoy (Joe), Mary Wagner (Dennis) and Tracy Burch. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; and a host of great and great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Towers of Tunnels.
