He was predeceased by: his parents, Cletus Arno and Opal Nixon; the mother of his child Betty Jayne Austin Nixon; his great grandchild Kenzley Jane; his nephew Brad Moore; and his grandparents, George, Anna Nixon, Audie and Jennie Mask.

He is survived by: his daughter Cindy Baxter (Heath); his granddaughters, Madison Lain Caldwell and Madilyn Suzanne Caldwell; his great grandchild Karleigh Lane; his siblings, Carita Kuykendall, Peggy Moore (David), Marilyn Dodd (John) and Randy Nixon (Jana); and his niece Michelle. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
