He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Eric Wilkins and Lillian Mae Wilkins; his son Phillip Wilkins; and his siblings, Roscoe Wilkins, Jimmy Wilkins, Ruth Horne, Estille Vinson, Ann Cornelius and Dale Scott.

He is survived by: his wife Margie Phillips Wilkins; his son Joey Wilkins (Jessica); his grandchildren, Brendan Wilkins, Gracie Glidewell, Amber McCann and Dakota McCann; and his sisters, Eloise Ross, Gale Stine, Martha Herrmann and Sherry Scott.
