He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Hivley and Ruth Mullins Hivley; his brothers, Jodie and Kenneth Hivley; and his grandsons, Jamie and John Weatherbee.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Sue Hivley; his children, Keith Hivley (Lisa), Paul Moore (Sylvia), Paula Moore Grimes (Chris), Carol Brawner and Julie Weatherbee Hatfield (Danny); his grandchildren, Sara Surratt Langston, Brandy McAllister (Scotty), Alex Grimes (Heather), Jay Moore, Tyler Moore, Randy Jones (Bridgette) and Rodney Jones (Christy); and his sister Faye Palmer (Robert). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
