She was predeceased by: her parents, Pauline Hillman and Frank James Hillman; and her brothers, Olan Smith, Alvin Smith, Junior Smith, Ed Smith and Buddy Hillman.

She is survived by: her husband Malcom Gainey; her children, Stephen Gainey (Julie) of Gulfport, MS and Stephanie Reece (Jeff) of Anna, TX; her grandchildren, Justin Reece (Sarah), Katherine and Hill Gainey; her great grandchildren, Meadow and Arlo Reece; and her sister Nell Williams (Jim) of Natchez, MS. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
