With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Shirley Yerby of Columbus, Mississippi, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Shirley left this world on January 14, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Minnie L. Melton Knight and Johnie W. Knight; her siblings, Charles Knight, Bob Knight and Kathy Knight Day; and her great grandchild Grayson Reich.
She is survived by: her husband Sidney C. Yerby of Steens, MS; her sons, Daniel Rayfield (Monica) of Orange Beach, AL, Charles Rayfield (Donna) of Loganville, GA, Terry Rayfield of Newport, TN and Joe Rayfield (Holly) of Vernon, AL; and her grandchildren, Stephanie Hawkins, Stephen Rayfield, Brooke Hansen, Sabrina Lee, Elizabeth Rayfield, Jennifer Parker, Josh Rayfield, Priscilla Stevens Melissa Brooks, Abby Rayfield and Tyler Rayfield. She is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Booneville Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home (114 Gaston Rd, Booneville, MS 38829). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
