He was predeceased by: his parents, James Nelson Barron and Mary Newton Barron. He is survived by: his spouse Meredith Andrews; his children, Blair Barron Wells (Walter) of Gilbert, SC, John A. Barron, Jr. (Cynthia) of Columbus, OH, Jim Barron (Liz) of Houston, TX and Claire Barron (Sarah) of Nashville, TN; his stepchildren, Jim Robinson, Heather Evans (Bennett) and Christian Heinkel (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Dr. Kathryn Alma Barron, Lacy Barron (Benha), Ryan Barron (Amanda), Barron Wells (Melanie), Marlena Barron, Daniel Barron and Brit Wells; his stepgrandchildren, Caitlin Dampier (Mike), Adaline Evans, Sophia Heinkel, Nadia Heinkel, Isabel Currie, Greg Mollica (Christina) and Joe Mollica (Tom); his nephews, Philip Watson, Paul Watson (Vanessa) of Madison, MS and Jim Watson (Carol) of Kalispell, MT.; and his caregivers, Tondra Guyton, Lillie Bardley and Annie Newson. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 21st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church (318 College St, Columbus, MS 39701). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
