With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Helen McCarty (Columbus, Mississippi), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Helen left this world on January 12, 2025 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Cynthia Ann Chapman and James Earl Sansing; her significant other Melton McCarty (Mac); her son Melton L. McCarty, Jr.; and her siblings, Janie Sansing Smith, James Earl Sansing, Jr., George Marvin Sansing and Edward Pierce Sansing.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia M Hutchinson of Charlotte, NC, Kimberly M. Davis of Columbus, MS and Diane M. Jackson (Bert) of Ridgeland, MS.; her grandchildren, Catherine H. Walker (Bradford) of New Orleans, LA, Annah D. McWhorter (Wesley) of Houston, TX, Helen H. Kernodle (David) of Charlotte, NC, John Hutchinson, Jr. (KC) of Nashville, TN, Caleb L. Davis (Amber) of Summerdale, AL, Trey Jackson (Parker) of Madison, MS, Natalie V. Davis of Lillian, AL, Chris Jackson of Homewood, AL, Hannah S. McCarty (Rae) of Chattanooga, TN and Elizabeth Ann M. Williams (Reed) of Nesbit, MS.; and her sister-in-law Glaniece M. Roberts of Meridian, MS. She is also survived by 7 great-granddaughters and 9 great-grandsons, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar First Baptist Church (123 Bluecutt Rd, Columbus, MS 39705). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
