Doris Richards Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 25, 2024, at the age of 85, Doris Richards of Columbus, Mississippi, born in Caledonia, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Col. Harvey Willis Richards; and her parents, James Herman and Eva West Egger of Caledonia. She is survived by: her children, Scotty Richards (Tina), Robin Ballard (Kenny) and Dodie Williams (Scott); her grandchildren, Austin Broadaway (Nicole), Kyle Ballard (Hope), Preston Ballard (Gracie), Tanner Williams and Brady Williams; her great grandchildren, Hadley, William Carter, Elianna Grace Broadaway, Cammie, Miley, Cohen Ballard and Beckett Ballard; her daughters, Evelyn Thompson, Nancy Gerhart, Sandra Slayton and Donna Grant-Hertsch; her brothers-in-law, Buddy Slayton and Jerry Hertsch; and also Egger. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and Church Circle 1, Terra Firma Garden Club where she served in all offices, Keenagers of 1st Methodist Church, RSVP, Friends of the Library, and a long-playing Bunko group.
