With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Callahan of Columbus, Mississippi, born in Decatur, Alabama, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 17, 2024 at the age of 84. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Howard Gilbreath and Mary Evelyn Bates; and her husband Dr. Elias R. Callahan, Jr.. She is survived by: her brothers, Bobby Gilbreath (Jackie) of Murphy, NC and Ken Gilbreath (Marilyn) of Boston, MA; and her children, Rick Callahan (Karen) of Houston, TX, Robby Callahan (Lori) of Scottsboro, AL and Debbie Goebel (Kerry) of Houston, TX. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
