He was predeceased by: his wife Jolane Riley; his parents, T. L. Riley and Tammy Riley; and his great grandchild Stella Grace Powell. He is survived by: his children, Joan Dell "Dorrie" Roney of Gulfport, Jolene Dollar (Todd) of Jefferson, GA and James David Riley of Hattiesburg, MS; and his brothers, Tommy Riley (Dot) of McComb, MS and James Harold Riley (Lisa) of Columbia.
