He was predeceased by: his parents, Lula V Porter and Kelly Porter; his son Gene; his brothers, Lloyd (Sally) and Ralph; and his stepson Danny.
He is survived by: his brother Jessie "Gene"; his former wife Nell; his children, Sandra, Paul and Alan; and his wife Annette Barnett Porter. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
