He was predeceased by: his parents, Nellie Mae Smith and James Kirby Smith. He is survived by: his wife Wanza K. Smith; his children, Thomas A. "Tony" Smith (Charnel) of Baton Rouge, LA and Stephanie N. "Sissy" Wood (Jerry) of Lebanon, OH; his grandchildren, James S. Lancon, Justin M. Gill (Cathryn), Kaleigh J. Smith, Tyler W. Smith and Kyzar A. Smith; his great grandchildren, Samuel J. Lancon and Collins N. Gill; and his sisters-in-law, Cecile Smith, Yvonne Davis, Maxine Russell and Nancy Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
