He is survived by: his wife Virginia Rankin of Columbia; his children, Rebecca Thompson (Wayne) of Hattiesburg, MS and Daniel Rankin (Mona) of Columbia; his siblings, Louise Elkins (Richard), James Edward "Jimmy" Rankin (Sandra) of Arab, AL and Howard Earl Thornhill (Martha) of Carriere, MS; and his grandchildren, Kelly King of Hattiesburg, Robert King (Kim) of Petal, MS, Hayley Childress (Brad) of Petal and Peyton Thompson of Hattiesburg. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
