He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Holmes and Audrey Holmes; his son Bryan Holmes; his son-in-law Allen Morgan; and his brother-in-law Sammy Hines.

He is survived by: his wife Jo Holmes; his children, Twila Morgan, Dana Praytor (Donnie) and Kevin Holmes (Christy); his sister Gail Hines; and his grandchildren, Shauna Morgan, Chase Morgan (Linda), Nicole Berg (Kevin), Jennifer Wood (Blake), Kylie Holmes, Presley Holmes, Trinity Holmes, Breezey Cox and Rayne Praytor (Lynn). He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
