He was predeceased by: his son William Sharkey, II; his parents, Lloyd Ellis Overstreet, Sr. and Althea Willene Brewer Overstreet; and his siblings, John Ellis and Sheila Harvey.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Groves Overstreet of Columbia, MS; his children, James Harold Overstreet, Jr. (Alisha), Derek Prosser (Brittany), Scottie Overstreet (Penny), Travis Overstreet, Missy Bilbo (Tommy), Brenda Keene (Chris) and Jenifer Overstreet Forehand (Scott); his siblings, Jake Overstreet (Linda), Junior Overstreet (Sarah), Timmy Overstreet, Barbara Trytten (Greg), Althea Palmer (Bo), Sherry Krebs (Anthony) and Nora Lee Richburg (Lebron); and his daughter-in-law Danielle Overstreet. He is also survived by Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hathorn Funeral Home (167 Old Hwy 98 E, Columbia, MS 39429). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
