She was predeceased by: her husbands, Levester Johnson and Jimmy Herrin; her children, Kathy Johnson, Peggy Pullen, L. V. Johnson and Bill Johnson; her mother Velma Sistrunk Childress; and her brother William Hooten.

She is survived by: her daughters, Sandra Beach (Wayne) of Lumberton, MS, Joy Thornhill of Georgia, Michelle Johnson (Henry) of Columbia and Angela Herrin of Hattiesburg, MS; and her sister-in-law Nell McGill. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
