With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maurine Hurst Williamson of Collinsville, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 30, 2024 at the age of 92. She was predeceased by: her husband Charlie Williamson; her daughter Regina Williams; her son-in-law Sidney Thompson; her parents, Jasper Hurst and Beatrice Hurst; and her sisters, Melfaline Gibbs and Talitha Williams.
She is survived by: her children, Zona Thompson, Sue Martin, Darla Guy (Greg) and Tony Williamson (Angela); her son-in-law Ben Williams; and her grandchildren, Chad Thompson (D'nece), Beth Ann Thompson, William Luke Thompson (Cheryl), John Thompson (Lindsey), Jennifer Flake (Lance), Calton Watt (Amy), Justin Watt (Eva), Gregory Guy and Ashley Mercado (Joe). She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews.
The Williamson family suggests memorials be made as donations to Union Baptist Church, C/O Rev. Mike Vick, 755 Tinsley Chisolm Road, DeKalb, MS 39328 in lieu of flowers.
