He was predeceased by: his parents, Heber Gibson and Clydie Gibson; and his sisters, Peggy Covington and Treajetta Gibson. He is survived by: his wife June Gibson; his son Gary Lamar Gibson, II; his grandchildren, Gary Lamar, III, Jonathan Wayne and Madison Jean Gibson; his sister Yvette Wilkerson; his children, Big Foot and Lacey; and also William Pace.

Memorials may be made to Russell Christian Academy or to the Collinsville First Baptist Church Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
