He is survived by: his nieces, Sandra Hooks Ross and Anita Gayle Hooks Cluff; his wife Peggy Ward Sanford of Collins; his children, Denise Sanford Laird (Jessie) of Hattiesburg and David Sanford (Shannon) of Collins; his granddaughters, Ashley Sanford, Alyssa Sanford of Collins, Haley Smith (Josh) of Hattiesburg, Hannah Laird of Hattiesburg and Hollie Grace Laird of Hattiesburg; his great grandchildren, Elijah Smith and Ezra Smith of Hattiesburg; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Julia Smith and Alex Smith of Petal; and his siblings, Laverne McDonald (Don) of Collins, Winnie Hooks (Sammy Glen) of Collins and Bobby Sanford (Clara) of Escatwpa. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
